Pioneering Study in Plant Sciences group consists of fifteen members from different departments working across the spectrum of photobiology, stress biology, and genomics. Photobiology research investigates the growth and development of plants affected by light quality, quantity, period and direction. Stress Biology mainly focuses on the physiological response to biotic or abiotic factors. Human beings face more intense climate change. Researchers discover plant response mechanism to the stress in the aspects of heat, drought, submerge, salinity, physical wounding and plant-microbe-arthropod (PMA) interactions. Research of the genomics and gene expression group includes investigation of genetic diversity between wild type and mutants or diversity among species. The outcomes may help variety improvement, finding new compounds for medical and timber industrial usage as well. In summary, all the research in our group is to enhance our outstanding of basic plant sciences research and possible applications of crop improving in agriculture in near future.
