AINTU was established in 2018 with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, is a university-level center at National Taiwan University. Its goal is to bridge teams and resources from both within and outside the university and on research collaborations. Research topics include artificial intelligence technology and biomedicine. The current research project team consists of members from National Taiwan University, National TsingHua University, Academia Sinica, and other institutions. The primary focus is on research in advanced AI technologies suitable for intelligent services, developing AI technologies with robustness, interpretability, fairness, transparency, traceability, and data privacy protection. AINTU managed a joint-project, with the emergency department of National Taiwan University Hospital, to develop and introduce AI technologies to smart emergency. This project is based at National Taiwan University Hospital, and it involves setup the infrastructure of the software and hardware for in-hospital computing servers. The project members developed more than ten AI models based on the clinical patient flows, covering triage, diagnosis, testing, inward observation, and discharge processes. These AI models are then introduced for clinical trials at the central and branch campuses of the hospital.
